Shopping

St. Simons Island could be called "Treasure Island" and not be far off the description!  Coming to the island since very young, it gets better and better!  A few favorite shops that you shouldn't miss:  TWO FRIENDS in Redfern Village is a must for all the ladies (and there are great gifts for men and the household!) She has just THE best taste ever.  Also, VIOLAS MARKET - again in Redfern Village - full of charm!  DUTCHMAN’S in the Village has great selections for gifts and for your home and most all the great shops will ship out of town. If you are looking for wonderful fresh veggies and home made food items, try UNCLE DON’S near the round-about. For novelty items, especially stain glass, check out A PANE IN THE GLASS, located near the King & Prince.

Leisure

Visit the Pier (always fun watching the fishing and crabbing)

Visit the Lighthouse (great view at the top)

Take a tour of St Simons (trolley busses depart from the Village near the Pier)

Stroll through Mallery Park (tennis, pickle ball, basketball and baseball)

Visit East Beach (Coast Guard Station or Gould’s Inlet)

Have a glass of wine at Rooftop at Ocean Lodge (another great view from outside tables)

Other Activities

Biking - If you haven’t done it, biking around St Simons is relaxing and a great way to experience the island. You can get practically anywhere fairly quickly, but to pay attention at intersections.

Boat Ride with Captain Brooks - Captain Brooks Good of Coastal Outdoor Adventure will treat you to a special private tour by water. He knows all the best places to travel where you can only access by boat. Experience the uniqueness and beauty go the GA low country. Brooks also charters private fishing trips for the true outdoorsman. We try to enjoy at least one trip with Brooks each visit.

Visit some of the other islands surrounding St Simons. Jekyll has many new shops and restaurants. It also has very long stretches of beach which are often less crowded than St Simons. Cumberland and Sapelo are also interesting day trips, but are only accessible by ferry. Many experience a step back in time during their visit.

Golf - There are plenty of courses on St Simons, Jekyll and in Brunswick.
